"It occurred to me to sculpt an idealized trophy with all the features and qualities we dream about.

First I crunch some numbers to achieve the desired score. An original pattern is sketched to this scale. Sections of wood are cut to length, joined with glue, dowels and steel rods to maintain strength and form the basic shape. The details are carved and sanded, and finally texture such as the beading around bases and pedicles is achieved with a variety of modeling compounds. The finished antlers are then molded and a limited number of registered reproductions are cast in durable polymer and hand-painted by yours truly."
